"I felt like you were there walking me through and guiding me on everything as if it was a one on one session. The constant reassurance throughout it was a chefs kiss." - Amanda, Aspiring Author

After writing 30 books over the last decade, I've ironed out a plotting practice that works best for me. Spoiler alert - it's a mash-up of methods. By embracing the brainstorming steps and breaking my plotting into manageable pieces, I've found a stride, tightened up my process, and I am excited to share it with those of you struggling with overwhelm and uncertainty. And the kicker is - I use my own stories and processes as examples throughout!

"It's informative, inspiring, and truthful. I’m so excited for it!" - Makayla, Aspiring Author

Introduction...

Dearest Writer,

Welcome! I’m so excited for you to embark on one of the most remarkable journeys I’ve ever been on: storytelling.

This exercise is my favorite part. The brainstorming and organizing. We're talking brain vomit and how you can organize it, breaking the outlining process into manageable pieces, like a springboard to the finish line: your book!

This is when I get my ideas out of my head and onto the page so I can create a world and characters that will breathe life into my stories.

It is my hope that you’ll be able to shrug off the overwhelming feeling that comes with writing a book. I want your excitement to eclipse your fear.

So, take what comes next in strides (hours, days, weeks-whatever you need), buffer out the noise preventing you from writing, and stop overthinking what you’re doing. It’s time to have some fun and write a story.

Don’t forget to be kind to yourself. You’re doing something most people would never attempt. Remember that. Own it. Because if we can’t have fun and allow ourselves to revel in our inspiration, imagination, and passion, what the heck are we writing for?

And finally, keep this in mind moving forward: You don’t have to do any of what I tell you. My experience and processes are my own. I am offering them to you as tools you might find useful along your journey too.

Happy writing adventures. I’ll see you on the other side!

xo, Linds
